Urban Bush Women Closes 30th Anniversary Tour in D.C.

On Friday, April 17, the Urban Bush Women closed out their 30th anniversary tour at Rockville’s American Dance Institute (ADI) of their stirring new work, Walking with ‘Trane Chapter 2.  Inspired by John Coltrane’s jazz suite A Love Supreme, live piano accompaniment was provided by Grammy Award-winning composer-pianist George Caldwell.

Urban Bush Women are known for telling the untold and undershared stories of disenfranchised people via strikingly beautiful movement. It was awesome to reconnect with everyone, as I last saw them at the Urban Bush Women’s Summer Leadership Institute 2014. #UBWSLI2014.

They will return in September 25-26, 2015 for their Walking with ‘Trane incubator, so make sure to come out!
