A topic that restores my faith in humanity and the power of social connections is the exploration of happiness, and what it means to different people. In June, Lawrence Green of Time Traveling Media and I began shooting a documentary exploring happiness, and over the summer, we will visit neighborhoods in the Washington, D.C. area, Baltimore, MD, and Silver Spring, MD to hear a wide range of perspectives and experiences. As we’ve hit the streets, there’s been a mix of pain, love, laughter, religion, family, friendship and recovery peppering our conversations, but it’s hard not to feel uplifted after these brief encounters.
